Brown Sugar
This homemade brown sugar works great in a pinch!
I had no idea that you could even make brown sugar at home, let alone that it would only require TWO ingredients. Brown sugar is simply sugar that still contains molasses. So by making it at home, you are taking good quality sugar (I use organic cane sugar) and adding molasses.
I store my brown sugar in a mason jar, airtight glass containers will keep your brown sugar moist and soft for longer.
As everything continues to get more expensive, I’ve been trying to learn new ways to save money by learning to make some of my staples right at home. Brown sugar is probably the easiest and quickest thing to make, and because I make so much oatmeal for the littles for breakfast.
I prefer cane sugar as I try to avoid white foods that have been bleached and stripped of all of their nutrients so I no longer use white sugar.
Try this homemade brown sugar recipe and let me know what you think here!
